For anybody who has tried capturing their kid’s images or attempted kids photography would agree with me, that doing so is not a cake walk. But the results are simply worth the effort of all the dancing, chasing, running and monkeying around. So, like I do for all my shoots, I went prepared for the entire chase. But to my delightful surprise, the beautiful and gorgeous tiny tot Riya, cut my chase in half and made me less of a monkey.
As decided, we met at Lalbagh botanical gardens, Bangalore. The car parked and out stepped this gorgeous little darling Riya. Her slight shy but beautiful smile with the twinkle in her eyes- immediately put me at ease. Like for all my shoots, I pre decide on a few props and Riya enjoyed with most of them. Especially the red umbrella on a windy day! As for most girls, she wanted to pose in lovely earrings, pretty dresses and all things nice and that was half the job done for me. She was just herself, enjoying, playing, dancing, twirling and chasing butterflies, and I was capturing the best of her. When we moved home, early evening, she introduced me to her doggy. The lil kid and dog teased and played giving me some more pretty captures. After spending the entire day with her, I asked her “Riya, what do you want as a gift?” and she excitedly replied “Long hair”. Long hair, is Riya’s current fondness, followed shortly by, ice creams, trinkets. In these images of Riya, each and every expression, posture and pose is all Riya. My day couldn’t have been better. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every moment (except when the dog was in the scene, I am really scared of Dogs) Thank you Riya, your mommy and daddy.
